A "Full Custom Shirt" is created for you by one of three methods:
1. Modify an existing shirt design from our library,
2. Make your sketch into a reality, or,
3. Conceive a whole new design from scratch.
If you want to "Conceive a whole new design from scratch", you must retain the services of a graphic artist, let us know if you need us to refer you to a graphic artist, and we will happily provide you with contact information.
If you want to "Make your sketch into a reality", or "Modify an existing shirt design from our library", we'll have to play that one by ear, if it is a simple enough idea we may offer you the option of having us do it for you at our design rate of $55 per hour.
A clarification about any "Custom" category shirt: they are individually made, in exactly the same manner, and with exactly the same materials, so the price of the shirts themselves and the minimum order quantity, never varies (until we reach quantities of over 200, at which point you have to call us, and we'll have a nice chat).
Important notes about the services of a graphic artist: The design must still be vetted by us to make sure that two things are correct:
A. The shirt has to "Line Up" correctly. Explanation: The sleeves, and the front and back of a shirt are asymmetrical, but the artists never draw them that way, therefore shirt designs in which there are lines, or a pattern that flows around a sleeve or from the chest through the sleeve and into the back, frequently must be corrected by us (design rate of $55 per hour) so that the integrity of the design is maintained when the shirt is sewn together.
B. Colors: We need to vet the colors to be sure they will turn out to be what you want. Remember, our Techstatic fabric is a silvery grey, but a graphic artist has no choice but to treat it as though it were white. If the exact colors were critical, this also would involve our time at $55 per hour.
Now, the shirt body design may not be the whole story, since there is usually a commercial or personal art component, so PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND: We will not place your order until the artwork is truly complete. Here follows a brief discussion of logos and art:
TechwearUSA maintains a large library of logos from various manufacturers, but many require specific permission for their use. We will tell you if you need permission, and provide you with contact information, but you must obtain this permission. If the required logo is not on file, then you must obtain the art file (see art tutorial, and permission from the owner for its use. If you have a logo, or art, and want to know if we can use it without conversion to vector format (art tutorial, email it to us, and we'll let you know, but the below will still be required.
Please be clear on this: Have all of the art files (ones we do not already have), and/or permissions sent to you. When you have them all, send us everything at once (as attachments to your email), along with the quantities and sizes, and your credit card information, address, phone, and etc… Save your sent email to us for reference. This is the day your custom order actually begins, from here your order will take at least 3 months.
